Textile Printing Frequently Asked Questions

Can you print just one yard?

Yes. We encourage customers to order a 1-yard strike off before proceeding with a full production run. A strike off allows you to review the color, scale, and overall appearance of your design on the selected fabric before committing to a larger order.

Can you color match my design?

Yes. The most accurate color matching is achieved by providing a physical sample of the color you want us to match. Art fees may apply for color matching services.

Another option is to purchase one of our printed color palettes, which contains hundreds of colors printed on the actual fabric along with corresponding HEX values to help you select the closest match.

Can you match Pantone® colors?

We can assign Pantone colors to your artwork, but we cannot guarantee an exact Pantone match without a physical Pantone swatch or color sample. Because every fabric absorbs ink differently, the same Pantone color may produce different results on different materials.

Can I supply my own fabric?

Yes. Customer-supplied fabric is accepted. Please contact your Carr Textile sales representative before submitting fabric to review our Customer Supplied Fabric Guidelines, fabric requirements, and any special considerations for your project.

Can you print on both sides of the fabric?

Yes. Double-sided printing is available on most printable fabrics. However, the front and back prints cannot be perfectly aligned (registered) with one another due to the nature of textile printing.

What is white ink printing?

White ink printing allows us to print light-colored artwork on dark or colored fabrics by first laying down a white underbase. White ink can also be printed by itself for unique design effects.

What file types do you accept?

PDF files are preferred. We also accept AI, PSD, TIFF, JPG, and other common graphic file formats. Every file is reviewed for image quality, resolution, repeat accuracy, and print readiness before being prepared for production.

What size should I make my artwork file?

The size of your artwork file should match the final printed size you want on the fabric whenever possible.

For repeating patterns:

  • Set your file to the actual repeat size you want printed.
  • Do not create a file that is larger than the intended repeat unless the design requires it.
  • Clearly note the desired repeat size, print direction, and scale when submitting artwork.
  •

What is your turnaround time?

Most print orders ship within 6–8 business days after payment has been received. Larger orders, color matching, strike off approvals, or specialty services may require additional production time.

Can you print wallpaper?

Yes. We offer latex printing on pre-pasted wallpaper substrates, making installation quick and convenient while producing vibrant, durable prints.

Can I reorder my design?

Absolutely. Once your design has been approved, we retain both your approved production standard and print file, allowing you to reorder with confidence. This helps ensure consistent color and quality across future print runs.

Do you offer rush printing?

Rush services may be available depending on current production schedules, fabric availability, and order requirements. Contact us to discuss your timeline.
